BICYCLe Chess | Organized chess play in Bloomington, Indiana

As of September 2008, the group of people that has been getting together to play chess at El Norteño restaurant on Walnut St. has moved their regular meeting to the upstairs of the Irish Lion. Everyone is welcome to come play chess, including people under the age of 21 and players of any skill level from expert to novice. (You should bring your own board and set of pieces though.)

Sunday nights people gather to play chess in the Indiana Memorial Union, on the IU campus, in the open area of tables called the Commons.

Players usually play between 7 and 10pm.

The group that used to meet as far back as 2003 at The Cinemat is still active at El Norteño, the downtown Mexican restaurant

Players usually meet around 7pm in the upstairs area of the restaurant.

El Norteño is on North Walnut Street, just north of Sixth, in the historic Princess Theatre building.
